A Call to Love Fervently

Daily Devotional – Sunday, June 8, 2025
And above all things, have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”
1 Peter 4:8 (NKJV)

There is a lot going on in our lives: work, family, friendships, church, and all the little things in between. It can be overwhelming, and sometimes people rub us the wrong way or let us down. However, in the middle of all that, Peter reminds us, above all things, to love one another.

Above all else

Christians must love each other deeply, not just casually or when it is easy, but with real effort and heart. This kind of love doesn’t wait to be earned. It steps in even when people mess up. You see, love has a way of covering the messes we all make.

We have all made mistakes. We have all hurt someone or needed forgiveness. God’s love, shown through Jesus, covers us. Now, He calls us to do the same for others, to offer grace, to let go of bitterness, and to choose kindness even when it is hard.

A Call to Love Fervently

Loving deeply doesn’t mean ignoring problems. It means choosing forgiveness over resentment and connection over division. Love sees the bigger picture and refuses to give up on people.

Is there someone you have been holding at arm’s length because of something they did? What would it look like for you to love them deeply today? In the end, fervent love is what people will remember. Let’s make it the thing we are known for.

Prayer
Almighty God, thank You for loving me even when I fall short. Teach me to love with patience, grace, and forgiveness. Fill my heart with deep love that covers, heals, and brings peace.
