Worthy of the Gospel

Daily Devotional – Tuesday, June 17, 2025
Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ
Philippians 1:27 (NKJV)

Life does not always go as planned. Sometimes things fall into place perfectly, and other times, nothing seems to work out. Paul, however, writing from prison of all places, tells us to live in a way that reflects Jesus no matter what comes our way.

Reflecting Christ

To act like Jesus when you are tired, stressed, frustrated, or hurting? Yet that is what this verse is about. It is not about being perfect but about being consistent and choosing to live in a way that points to Jesus even when life feels upside down.

It means being kind even when people don’t deserve it and telling the truth even when a lie feels easier. It implies forgiving, showing patience, and loving others, even when you are not in the mood. You don’t do this because it is easy but because it is who you are in Christ.

Worthy of the Gospel

Paul reminds us that people are watching. They may never step into a church or open a Bible, but they will notice how we live. Our lives, flawed as they may be, can reflect Jesus more than we realize.

If someone watched your life today, would they see Jesus in it? Where might He be inviting you to grow?

Let your actions speak, not just when life is good, but especially when it is hard. Let how you treat others, how you respond to challenges, and how you carry yourself be a quiet but powerful message that you belong to Jesus.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me to live in a manner worthy of the gospel. Fill me with Your strength and grace, so others can see You in me.
