Daily Devotional – Thursday, June 19, 2025
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
James 1:12 (NKJV)
Life doesn’t always go as we plan. Sometimes we endure difficult periods characterized by pain, confusion, heartbreak, waiting, loss, or persistent temptation. It can feel overwhelming, and in those moments, we may wonder, “Is God even paying attention?”
The Reward
James reminds us that God actually cares about us. He sees our struggle, and more than that, He calls us blessed when we don’t give up. When we choose to trust Him in the storm, even with shaky hands and tired eyes, God rewards us.
Life is not easy, but if we hang in there, if we keep loving God even when it is hard, there is a reward coming that no one can take from us. It is not just peace on the other side of the trial. It is the crown of life, in other words, true, lasting joy and eternal life with God.
Is God Paying Attention?
Furthermore, there is something else we need to realize. God is not looking for perfect people but for those who love Him enough to keep going, even when it hurts.
Consequently, if today feels like a battle, take heart. Your perseverance matters. You are not alone, and you are not forgotten. Keep trusting. Keep walking. Keep loving Him. There is a
crown waiting for you. God pays attention.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, sometimes I get tired and discouraged, but I don’t want to give up. Help me to keep trusting You. Give me strength to stay faithful and to love You even in the middle of hard days.
