Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

He is serving four life terms for murder. He narrates his story to the news reporter as if he is describing a normal working day. Are those the only killings he committed? No. He killed many more but was not arrested.

He is a New Creation

This is revolting, right? Well, wait until you hear this. He is now a born-again Christian and a preacher. The past is gone, including his despicable crimes. Now he is a new creature, forgiven and grateful for a chance to live for God.

The comments’ section of this YouTube page does not conceal the disgust and anger of the viewers:
“Imagine finding this guy in heaven, ostensibly because God forgave him!”

When Sinners Judge Sinners

For a moment, I also get carried away. Does this killer think he is innocent just because he is now a Christian? Is he really remorseful, or is this just an audition for the cameras?

Then I remember David and Paul. What if they were incarcerated in a modern facility and someone interviewed them? Would the comments be any different?

Then there is me and you. If our stories were told in full, minus the grace of God, how would people react? Thank God for the grace that locates, saves, and transforms abhorrent evildoers into children of God. If we looked deep inside ourselves, we would find no reason to judge others.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for loving a vile sinner like me and making me a new being. Help me to stop judging others because they are debtors of grace, like me.
