Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD and whose hope is the LORD.
Jeremiah 17:7 (NKJV)
We all want something solid to lean on or something we can count on, especially when life gets difficult. Often, we turn to our jobs, savings, people we trust, or even personal plans. Nevertheless, these things, as good as they are, can change or fail us.
Blessed is the Man Who Trusts in God
That is what brings our key text into sharp focus. God says the person who puts their trust in Him is the one who is truly blessed. Granted, it is easy to talk of trust when our lives are proceeding well, but the experience changes when we are in trouble.
Trusting God means choosing to believe that He is still working, even when you don’t see the full picture. It means saying, “God, I may not have all the answers, but I know You do.” That kind of trust brings peace, strength, and a steady heart, irrespective of the uncertainty that may be surrounding you.
The Reward of Trust
When your confidence is in God, you are like a tree planted beside a river. You possess an unending supply of strength. You will not panic when challenges come because your roots go deep into His faithfulness. While others may fall apart, you will keep standing. As long as Christ is holding you, it does not matter how weak you are.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I want to trust You more, particularly when things don’t make sense. Help me let go of trying to control everything and instead lean fully on You. You are steady, faithful, and good. I place my hope and confidence in You today.
