When You Feel Broken

Revive me, O LORD, for Your name’s sake! For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.
Psalms 143:11 (NKJV)

Have you ever found yourself struggling to maintain your composure? Like life was just too much, and all you could do was whisper a prayer to God. That is exactly where David is in today’s key text. He is worn out, overwhelmed, and at the end of himself. In his moment of brokenness, he simply says, “God, save me, not because I’ve got it all right, but because You are good.”

Revive Me, O LORD

David does not make excuses or try to prove himself. He just leans fully on God’s character. He knows that even when he feels weak, God is still strong. Even when he does not feel worthy, God is still faithful. And that is what gives him hope.

Sometimes we think we have to have everything together before we come to God. David, however, reminds us that it is okay to come broken, empty, or exhausted. God is not waiting for you to impress Him. He is waiting for you to trust Him. When that happens, He promises to lift you up and breathe new life into your weary soul.

When You Feel Broken

If you feel broken, take a deep breath and pray. Remember, God does not love you because you are perfect but because He loves you. Ask your Heavenly Father to hold you together and carry you through your current troubles, then allow His peace to fill your heart.

Prayer
Almighty God, You know when I am broken even if no one else does. I don’t come with answers, just with need. Please lift me up, give me strength, and remind me You are still with me.
