Why You Should Not Give Up

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Life often feels like one long test characterized by stress, loss, heartbreak, temptation, and anxiety. On some of these days, even getting out of bed feels like an act of courage. Are you in such a situation right now, wondering if God notices how hard you are trying to hold on?

The Crown of Life

James was writing to believers who were often misunderstood and mistreated, not just because of their faith in Jesus, but also because they were a small, scattered group trying to stay faithful in a world that did not welcome them.

James reminds them that even in our lowest moments, there is a blessing in simply not giving up. Having faith entails keeping walking and loving God, even when your world is shaking. Because of that, God promises the crown of life in return.

Why You Should Not Give Up

What more could we ask for than eternal life to be spent in the presence of God? It is worth enduring the hardships that life brings our way. Thankfully, God does not leave us to struggle alone, and life is not always a painful experience. We can lean on Him as we tackle any trials.

The crown of life awaits; hence, you should not give up. Every tear, every prayer, and every effort to stand for Jesus does not go unnoticed. Our momentary trials are not an end but the means to our glorification.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, when life’s challenges threaten to drown me, help me not to give up. Thank You because You are walking with me, and the crown of life awaits me.
