And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.
Matthew 1:21 (NKJV)
When the angel visited Joseph, he made it clear that this child was not like any other. His name, Jesus, meant “The Lord saves.” God has sent His Son to save people from their sins.
He Shall Save His People
Jesus did not step on earth just to inspire us or give us good teachings, though He did both. He came because we had a problem we could not fix on our own, and that is sin. Sin is not just the mistakes we make but the brokenness in our hearts that pulls us away from God. It leaves us guilty, ashamed, and powerless.
Jesus came to meet us right there, in our mess. He came to carry the weight of our sins on Himself at the cross. Christ came to set us free from the chains we could not break. He came to give us a new life, full of hope, peace, and the joy of being close to God again.
The Reason Jesus Came
Therefore, when we call on the name of Jesus, we are not calling on just another wise man or prophet. We are calling on the Saviour who knows us, loves us, and came for us. Whenever we feel helpless against sin, we need to remember that Jesus came to help us overcome it.
Do you really believe that Jesus came to save you from your sins? How can you live today like someone who has been forgiven and set free?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for coming into this world to save me from my sin. Help me to walk in the freedom and joy of Your salvation.
Thank you Jesus for saving me
Amen, Victor. Welcome to Daily Family Devotions.
