God’s Power in Our Imperfections

Daily Devotional – Tuesday, September 23, 2025
Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)

Paul, one of Jesus’ most devoted servants, accomplished incredible things. He shared the gospel across nations, planted churches, and witnessed countless lives being changed. Nevertheless, he also carried what he called a “thorn in the flesh,” a persistent struggle or hardship that remained despite his prayers.

Leaning on Grace

Three times he begged God to take it away, but instead of removing it, God said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best when you’re weak.” This was not the response Paul expected, but it shifted his perspective. He realized his success was not about his own strength or skill. God’s power was at its strongest when Paul admitted his own weakness.

What Paul once saw as a burden became the very place where Jesus’ strength shone the brightest. So, instead of resenting his struggles, Paul learned to embrace them as opportunities for God to reveal His glory.

God’s Power in Our Imperfections

Like Paul, we often wish God would take away every pain, problem, or fear. However, sometimes, God’s greater purpose is to walk with us through the challenge, proving His grace is enough to sustain us. His presence does not just help us survive. It gives us strength and peace we could not find on our own.

If you are feeling tired, weak, or overwhelmed today, take comfort because your struggle does not disqualify you. It is an open door for God to show up powerfully in your life.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for reminding me that Your grace is enough and Your strength is made perfect when I am weak. Teach me to lean on You completely, trusting that You are working even in my challenges.
