Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)
Trust is the foundation of our relationship with God. It means believing that He knows what He is doing even when we do not understand what is happening. Solomon’s words invite us to stop depending on our limited understanding and to place our full confidence in God’s wisdom.
Trusting the Hands That Hold You
Trusting God does not mean life will always make sense. Occasionally His path feels confusing or even painful. Yet faith reminds us that God sees the whole picture while we only see a small piece.
Think of a child learning to swim. At first, the water feels scary, and the child wants to cling tightly to the edge. However, when the parent stretches out their arms and says, “Trust me,” the child has to let go and believe that the parent will not let them sink. That is how it is with God. He asks us to let go of our fear and trust that His arms are strong enough to hold us.
The Beauty of Surrender
Abraham did exactly that when God told him to leave his home and go to an unknown land. Although he was uncertain about the journey ahead, he had faith in God’s guidance. His faith was not built on understanding everything, but on trusting the One who does.
When we choose to trust God completely, we find peace even in uncertainty. He promises to make our paths straight and to work all things for our good. That is the beauty of surrender.
Prayer
Faithful God, teach me to trust You fully. Help me to let go of my fears and depend on Your wisdom. Guide my steps and keep my heart at peace.
