When You Can’t Fight Anymore

Daily Devotional – Monday, November 10, 2025
Contend, LORD, with those who contend with me. Fight against those who fight against me.
Psalms 35:1 (NIV)

A farmer once watched helplessly as a storm gathered over his field. His crops, which had taken months to grow, were about to be destroyed. Instead of panicking, he ran into his house, knelt, and prayed, “Lord, only You can save my harvest.” Minutes later, the winds died down, and the heavy clouds scattered. The farmer knew it was not luck. It was God who had calmed the storm.

When Heaven Fights for You

David felt the same way when he wrote Psalm 35. Surrounded by enemies who were stronger than he was, he pleaded with God to step in. He asked the Lord to take up His shield and spear and fight on his behalf. David was not relying on his own power. He knew that victory would only come if God Himself intervened.

We often find ourselves in similar moments of helplessness. Life pushes us to the edge, and we feel surrounded by problems. There are times when words fail, friends disappear, and strength runs out. Yet, when we call on God, He shows up as our mighty defender.

When You Can’t Fight Anymore

The Lord never abandons His children. He steps into the storm, confronts the enemy, and reminds us that the battle belongs to Him. Our role is to trust, pray, and wait as He works.

Which battle are you facing today? Is it fear, financial struggle, or a broken relationship? Take it to God. He is the same warrior who fought for David, and He will fight for you too.

Prayer
Mighty God, I place my battles in Your hands. Please defend me and give me peace.
