Grace Changed the Verdict

Daily Devotional – Wednesday, November 12, 2025
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:1 (NIV)

A young man once worked in a bakery. One day, he accidentally left the oven on overnight, causing a small fire that destroyed several supplies. The next morning, the owner discovered the damage and demanded to know who was responsible. The young man, trembling with fear, confessed.

The Verdict is Freedom

Everyone expected him to be fired. Surprisingly, the owner forgave him and even paid for the losses himself. Later that week, the young man returned to work more grateful and determined than ever. He could not stop thinking about how undeserved that mercy was.

That is a glimpse of what God’s grace looks like. We all have moments when we mess up, and guilt weighs heavily on our hearts. Like the young man, we fear the consequences and often try to hide our mistakes or make up for them through good deeds. Yet, no effort of our own can erase the stains of sin.

Grace Changed the Verdict

Jesus steps in as our merciful Redeemer. He takes responsibility for what we did and pays the price with His own life. That is why there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Even though we were guilty, God declares us forgiven because of what Jesus did on the cross.

When you truly grasp that truth, it changes everything. If you are feeling weighed down today, remember that in Christ, you are free. The price has already been paid. Walk confidently in that freedom and rejoice in His amazing grace.

Prayer
Thank You, Jesus, for taking my guilt and giving me freedom. Help me live daily in the joy of Your forgiveness.
