Daily Devotional – Saturday, November 15, 2025
I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies.

Have you ever watched a child run to show a parent something exciting before asking for anything else? It is usually pure joy first. I once saw a little boy rush to his mother with a drawing he had made. He was beaming as he told her how proud he was of it.
Praise First
Only after sharing his excitement did he ask for help to color the rest. That simple moment reminded me of how praise works in our relationship with God. Before we present our needs, we get to come with joy, wonder, and gratitude.
When we look at scripture, we realize that praise is not a small part of prayer. It is powerful. Praise helps us recognize who God is. It reminds us of His greatness, His authority, His endless power, and His unmatched knowledge. It shifts our attention from ourselves to Him.
When Praise Opens the Door
When we take time to praise God, our hearts become full of reverence. We remember that He rules over all things. Nothing is too big or too confusing for Him. His love is far deeper than we can explain. By the time we begin presenting our needs, we do so with confidence because we know He is willing and able to help us.
David understood that praise positions the heart to trust. It nurtures assurance even before the answer arrives. How much of your prayer time consists of praise? Try increasing that portion little by little. As you do, your concerns will feel lighter and your trust in God will grow stronger.
Prayer
Lord, teach me to delight in praising You. Fill my heart with confidence as I call on You.
