Achieving success in life is a universal goal. It makes us exert a great deal of effort, including staying up late and getting up early on occasion. To get to the top, some of us even cheat, using dishonest and unlawful methods. What, according to the Bible, is the key to lasting wealth?
A Path to True Achievement
Joseph, son of Jacob, turns out to be the one who knows the answer. The key to Joseph’s success in life was the fact that he was never truly alone. With God’s help, Joseph thrived despite his limiting circumstances. The people around him also noticed that Joseph was different in attitude and character.
When you have God on your side, you will experience genuine success. Success comes from God’s favour. Just like God blessed Joseph, He will bless us when we put our trust in Him and obey Him without hesitation. Being faithful to God leads to greatness in all that we do, whether at work or in business. People take note of our success when it occurs.
Why Joseph Prospered
Reflect on your life for a second. Do you have any areas where you feel like you are falling short? Are you being true to God, trusting and obeying Him despite the trials and temptations you face? Just as Joseph patiently waited for God to work on his own behalf, align yourself with God. Achieving genuine success requires that all our endeavours require an attitude like Joseph’s.
Prayer
Aligning myself with Your will is the key to genuine success. Teach me to live by it, Heavenly Father.
