The Courage to Rise Again

Daily Devotional – Friday, March 6, 2026
For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity.
Proverbs 24:16 (NKJV)

According to a marathon runner, the main challenge in racing is not the distance but the obstacles along the way, such as a twisted step, a moment of fatigue, or a missed beat. The finishers distinguish themselves from quitters by getting back on their feet every time they trip.

Hope After the Stumble

King Solomon asserts that falling down doesn’t mean we have failed. Righteous people often feel weak, lose hope, or lose their way. Persistence, not perfection, is what makes the difference. The righteous rise again because God lifts and restores them.

Life has a way of knocking us down over and over. A wrong choice, a broken relationship, a spiritual lapse, or a time of deep disappointment can make us feel like we can’t get back up. However, for those who trust in God, falling does not mean the end of the story.

The Courage to Rise Again

God doesn’t count how many times you fall; He counts how willing you are to get back up with His help. Grace gives you the strength to stand up again. Mercy encourages another step forward. Every time you come back to God, it shows that failure doesn’t have the last word in your life today.

When you fall, you are not done. Go back to God, get back up, and keep walking in faith. Righteousness is not about never falling but about getting back on your feet every time you stumble. As long as you keep going, there is hope for you.

Prayer
Dear God, when I fall, give me the humility to get back up with Your grace and keep walking with You.
