Learning to Stand When Nothing Moves

Daily Devotional – Thursday, March 25, 2026
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

Today’s key text carries more weight when you remember where Paul wrote it from. He wasn’t at rest, far from it. He was confined in a prison, isolated, and facing an uncertain future. He had known seasons of impact and provision, but also hunger, hardship, and limitation. Yet somewhere along that journey, the apostle stopped measuring his life by circumstances and started anchoring it in something deeper.

The Secret Behind Steady Faith

So when he says, “I can do all things,” he is not speaking about achieving anything he desires. His discussion revolves around the idea of enduring all the challenges he faces. He had learned to be content in both abundance and need. Such contentment is not innate. It gradually unfolds, through seasons that challenge you to your limits and redefine your true needs.

Here, the power of Christ truly manifests. It is not loud or dramatic. It does not constantly change your situation. Instead, it steadies you. It holds you in place when life feels uncertain. It allows you to keep going, to remain faithful, even when nothing around you seems to shift.

Learning to Stand When Nothing Moves

There is a quiet struggle many people carry, the belief that things should be easier if God is present. Paul’s life, though, tells a different story. God’s strength often shows up not by removing the pressure, but by sustaining you under it. Contentment grows when you begin to trust that His presence is enough, even when your situation is not.

Take a moment today to be honest about where you feel stretched or dissatisfied. Instead of asking God to change everything, ask Him to strengthen you within it. Let this be the day you lean into His strength and discover that, even here, it is enough.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me to rely on Your strength and to find tranquillity in all situations.
