When No One Else Sees

Daily Devotional – Wednesday, April 1, 2026
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.
Proverbs 15:3 (NKJV)

Late at night, a security camera records everything in silence. It doesn’t make a sound and doesn’t draw attention to itself. It simply observes. People walk by, and the place often fades from memory. They act as though they are invisible, convinced their deeds will stay secret. Still, the recording lays bare everything, every nuance, preserved with absolute precision.

The Quiet Watcher

Similarly, today’s key text emphasises God’s omnipresence, suggesting that He is aware of everything. This isn’t about physical sight, but rather His complete understanding. Nothing escapes His notice; every action, every intention, and every moment are all known to Him. His knowledge is both complete and precise, encompassing both the seen and the unseen.

That truth can feel uncomfortable. Like a silent camera, God observes what we might wish to conceal. Every sin, no matter how private, leaves a mark. We might attempt to rationalise it or downplay its significance, yet it remains visible. This truth requires us to uphold our principles, even when no one is watching.

When No One Else Sees

Nevertheless, the same truth also brings a quiet kind of comfort. The camera does not only capture what is wrong; it captures everything. In the same way, God sees the good that others miss. He notices the restraint, the unseen obedience, the small decision to do what is right. Nothing done for Him is ever wasted or forgotten.

Today, live with an awareness that you are fully seen. Not with fear, but with a steady desire to be consistent. Let this truth guide your hidden choices and your visible ones alike. When the urge to forget creeps in, think of the camera. And, more importantly, remember the God who observes and values every aspect of your existence.

Prayer
Omnipresent God, grant me the strength to act with integrity, whether in plain sight or hidden from view. I trust that You see all things and will faithfully lead me.
