Why Your Story Is Not Yet Finished

Daily Devotional – Wednesday, April 15, 2026
The earth was without form and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Genesis 1:2 (NKJV)

Think of a dark room before the light is switched on. Everything seems unclear, and it feels like it is stagnant. That is how the earth is depicted in this verse. Yet even before God said, “Let there be light,” His Spirit was already there. The change did not start with light. It started with God being present.

Hope in the Middle of Darkness

Today’s key text shows a world that is empty and covered in darkness. It might look like nothing good could come from it. But the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. This means God was near, watching, and ready to act. The situation was not hopeless. It was simply not finished yet.

That is how life often feels. Things may seem confusing, slow, or even stuck. You might wonder if anything will ever change. But just like in the beginning, God is not far away. His Spirit is still present. Even when you cannot see it, He is working in ways you do not yet understand.

Why Your Story Is Not Yet Finished

This is why you should not give up. Do not give up on yourself, on others, or on the things you have prayed about. God does not need perfect conditions to act. He can bring light into dark places at any time. What looks quiet or still may actually be the moment before something new begins.

So keep trusting God. Keep praying. Remember that where His Spirit is, there is life and hope. Your situation is not over. God can speak into it at any time and bring light. Remain patient and anticipate that He has the power to alter circumstances in ways you may not anticipate.

Prayer
Almighty God, help me trust You. Even when things feel dark, remind me that You are always near.
