Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns.
Genesis 22:13 (NKJV)
Abraham and Isaac climbed Moriah together for three painful days. Isaac carried the wood and quietly asked where the sacrifice was. Abraham answered with faith, yet he still walked without seeing any solution ahead. Every step up the mountain must have felt heavy. The ageing man, though, had faith in the God who had assisted him in impossible times before.
Before the Ram Appeared
Today’s key text captures the moment when everything changed. Abraham looked up and saw a ram in the thicket behind him. God had already made the sacrifice ready before Abraham knew where it would come from. The Lord did not forget His servant in the trial. He provided just what was needed at the very point.
Many people understand what it feels like to wait for answers. You may pray faithfully and still wonder whether God sees your situation. This story reminds us that heaven is never careless with our pain. While Abraham climbed the mountain in confusion, the ram was already there. God was working before Abraham could recognise the provision that was waiting.
The Miracle Waiting on the Mountain
Hebrews 11:17-19 explains that Abraham believed God could raise Isaac from the dead. He trusted in the character of God, not in what he could see. Faith did not take away Abraham’s questions or feelings. Instead, it helped him keep walking when nothing made sense. Real faith is not pretending everything is effortless. Real faith keeps trusting God every day.
Today, lift your eyes toward the Lord instead of staring only at your fears. God is faithful in every season of uncertainty, but the answer may not come when you expect it. Trust Him as you continue to climb your mountain. One day you may discover God’s provision. He remained with Abraham, and He will stay with you too.
Prayer
Jehovah Jireh, teach me to trust You faithfully even when I cannot yet see Your provision.
