He fashions their hearts individually. He considers all their works.
Psalms 33:15 (NKJV)
It is ironic how one can feel lonely in a crowded hospital waiting room. People sit side by side, yet each person carries a different story. One worries about test results. Another is thinking about unpaid bills. A weary mother tries to calm her restless child while an elderly man stares quietly at the floor. Indeed, one can feel unnoticed. Thankfully, God, despite having billions of children, treats each of them as individuals.
Fashioned Individually
Today’s key text reminds us that the Lord sees every person clearly and personally. Indeed, He “fashions their hearts individually”. God formed every person with care and understands every thought, burden, fear, and hope. He knows the teenager struggling to fit in, the father carrying silent pressure, and the widow trying to stay strong after loss. He notices the details people often miss.
The world often values people by what they produce, own, or achieve. You may wonder whether anyone notices you. Yet when Jesus walked on earth, He noticed individuals that other people ignored. He stopped to attend to blind beggars, became like a relative to the outcasts, and listened to the pariahs of society. Christ gave people His time and attention, even when others ignored them.
The Way God Sees People
It is comforting to know that God sees us personally, yet the same truth should awaken our spiritual sensitivity. The psalmist observes that God “considers all their works.” He sees the choices we make and the reasons behind them. Nothing about our lives confuses Him. Even so, the One who knows us completely is rich in mercy and patient with our weaknesses and failures each day.
Today, remember that your life matters to God. He knows your name, He knows your struggles, and He loves your journey. Because God cares for you so personally, ask Him to help you extend the same grace to others. A kind word, a patient conversation or a thoughtful act of caring can remind someone that God has not forgotten them and they are not alone.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the special regard and care You extend to me. Help me to treat the people around me with a similar attitude.
