A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.
Proverbs 25:11 (NKJV)
In a small shop, a jeweller carefully places gold pieces on polished silver trays. Under the light, each piece shines because it has been thoughtfully arranged. If the display were messy or rushed, the beauty would not stand out. Everyone who walks past can clearly see and appreciate the gold’s value thanks to the setting.
Framed With Grace
Wise words work the same way. The right word, spoken at the right time, has immense value. Harsh or careless speech can leave deep wounds. Kind and timely words can calm fear and restore strength. Often, the difference is not in the truth itself but in how and when it is shared with others.
Many problems in relationships begin with rushed responses. Listening creates a better setting for meaningful conversation. Patience lowers tension. A gentle tone builds trust. When someone feels understood, truth becomes easier to receive and more likely to bring lasting change in everyday life.
A Better Way to Speak
In every circumstance, Jesus demonstrated this wisdom. He clarified incorrect thinking. He comforted hurting people with compassion. He asked thoughtful questions. He told simple stories that stayed with listeners long after the conversation ended. His words always matched the moment and reflected the heart of the Father with both strength and kindness.
Make a conscious choice to slow down. Think before speaking. Pray for wisdom in difficult conversations. Look for opportunities to encourage instead of criticise. Create space for truth to shine through patience and grace. Let every word reflect Christ and become a source of hope and healing wherever life leads today.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, inculcate wisdom in us that our speech may always be timely and a blessing to those we interact with.
