By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Hebrews 11:3 (NIV)
Artists, singers, sculptors, and others like them often make wonderful, unique works of art. They take ideas and turn them into finished, expensive things by using raw materials. It takes days of hard work, editing, and more work to finish the process. Artists work with and acquire ideas from the things God made, but God doesn’t need raw materials, according to the writer of Hebrews.
Where Worry Runs Out of Logic
God spoke the world into being, unlike the smartest people, who need God’s ideas and materials to actualise their dreams. The mind struggles to understand how everything we see comes from something invisible. Furthermore, God was not limited by time. He also didn’t have to change the way the earth worked, as the natural laws He established what was sufficient to create and sustain the beauty and wholeness of the world.
We need the same faith when we are about to give up. When everything seems to be lost, we must have faith in God’s ability to accomplish the seemingly impossible. When you have no money, get bad news from the doctor, lose your job, or fail in business, you must trust God more because He can make something out of nothing.
The Power of What You Can’t See
Is there anything today that appears challenging to you? Have you given up on your hopes and dreams? Have you given up? Have people given up on you? Trust in the God who has the power to bring up what you cannot see. Nothing is impossible for Him.
Prayer
Father in heaven, thank You because You are not limited, and my challenges are nothing before You.
