You are not your own; you were bought at a price.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV)
Think of something that is crucial to you, like your car, your phone, or your home. You care for it because it is significant to you. Owning something means you treat it with care. Now, think about God. What rights does He have over you as your Creator?
Who Really Owns Your Life
Paul speaks directly to the Christians in Corinth and doesn’t sugarcoat his words when he talks about sexual sin. He tells them to run away from it. God really cares about our bodies because they are not throwaway. What we do with our bodies affects our hearts, our self-esteem, and our spiritual health. Faith shows up in real choices, especially when the temptation is strong.
According to the apostle, God not only forgives believers; He also lives inside of them. Because the Holy Spirit lives in them, their bodies are holy places. That truth makes the concept of private ownership go away. Jesus really paid a price to save us, and now our lives are His to take care of and use for good.
When God Claims the Deed
This truth needs an honest answer. How will you treat your body today if it belongs to God? Think about your daily choices, habits, and limits. Faith shows up in little things. Choose to honour God with thanks and purpose, and treat your body like a sacred gift that was given to you. After all, you don’t even own yourself.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I am Yours. Please show me how to glorify You with my body and the choices I make every day.
