There is no wisdom or understanding or counsel against the LORD.
Proverbs 21:30 (NKJV)
You can plan something carefully and still watch it go differently from what you expected. Think of someone preparing to start a business. They study the market, talk to experienced people, prepare a budget, think about possible problems, and set dates for everything. They feel ready. Then a supplier lets them down, prices go up, or an important opportunity disappears. Suddenly, the plan needs to be changed. That can be frustrating, especially when you thought you had considered everything.
Beyond the Plan
Solomon says, “There is no wisdom or understanding or counsel against the LORD.” The verse reminds us that human wisdom has limits. You may have viable ideas and receive excellent advice. You may spend days thinking through a decision and still miss something important. God sees what you cannot see. He knows what lies ahead, and He understands things that are completely outside your view.
That is why we need God when we make plans. Talk to Him about what you want to do. Ask Him for wisdom before you make the decision, not only after things have gone wrong. Read His Word and allow it to shape your choices. Sometimes we become so confident in our thinking that we stop asking God what He wants. Today’s guiding scripture reminds us to keep Him at the centre of our decisions.
When Your Plans Don’t Go as Expected
When your plans change, don’t panic. Pray. Look at the situation objectively and ask what you can learn from it. Perhaps you need to change your approach, wait a little longer, or take an entirely different direction. You don’t have to have all the answers right now. God knows where things are going, even when you have no idea what comes next.
Consequently, plan carefully, seek wise advice, and do your part well. Then leave room for God to direct you. You don’t know everything that tomorrow will bring, and you don’t need to. Your responsibility is to make wise decisions and trust God with what you cannot control. A changed plan does not mean everything has gone wrong. Sometimes you simply need to slow down, pray, and give God room to show you what to do next.
Prayer
Dear God, I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, and sometimes I feel anxious when things don’t go as I hoped. Teach me how to make wise decisions and remain faithful to You when my plans go off track.
