Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.’
Isaiah 6:8 (NKJV)
Glory and Cephas are workmates. Sarah spends most of her idle time scrolling social media and listening to podcasts. She follows people talking about happiness, relationships, success, and finding a satisfying life. She keeps searching, yet she feels empty. Cephas is a Christian. Occasionally, he shares something he has learnt from the Bible. While He does not understand Glory’s quests for meaning in life, He talks about God freely. Slowly, Glory begins to see hope in God’s Word.
When God Needs a Voice
The sixth chapter of Isaiah demonstrates what happens when God calls someone to carry His message. Isaiah sees God’s holiness and is painfully aware of his own sinfulness. Then he hears God asking who will be His messenger. God is looking for someone willing to carry His message to His people. Isaiah makes himself available for God’s work. His response shows us that God often works through ordinary people who are willing to speak when He gives them an opportunity.
You do not need a large audience to share the gospel. Start with the people around you. Send a Bible verse to a friend on WhatsApp, share a short devotional, invite someone to study the Bible with you, or post a simple message about what Jesus means to you. You can also talk about your faith during an ordinary conversation. Use the opportunities you have. Someone may be searching for answers while sitting beside you or reading your message.
Will You Be the Voice?
Sometimes your clearest witness begins before you say anything about the Bible. People notice how you treat others, how you respond when things go wrong, whether you keep your word, and whether you show kindness. Pay attention to the people around you. Ask how someone is doing. Listen when they speak. Pray for them. When a natural opportunity comes, point them to Scripture and tell them what God has taught you. Stay ready when a door opens.
Someone in your family, workplace, neighbourhood, classroom, or circle of friends may hear dozens of voices every day and still be searching for hope. While we wait for Christ to return, people need to hear the good news of Jesus. God may use your words, your message, your post, or your example to reach someone looking for answers. Isaiah heard God ask who would go. Will you be the voice God uses to lead someone else to salvation?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, empower me to become Your voice to people who need to know You. Give me wisdom, courage, and a life that points people toward Jesus.
