Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.

Late one evening, a man sits alone in a quiet hospital corridor, staring at the floor as machines hum behind closed doors. Friends have gone home, strength feels spent, and the weight of waiting presses heavily on his chest. In that lonely space, he longs not for answers but for someone to notice his pain and draw near.

Today’s guiding text comes from a psalm of David shaped as a prayerful plea, written during a season of distress and opposition. David is not boasting of strength; he is confessing vulnerability. Within the psalm, he asks for guidance, forgiveness, and deliverance, trusting God as teacher and redeemer.
