When A Believer Falls…

Daily Devotional – Saturday, March 21, 2026
Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness…
Galatians 6:1 (NKJV)

A cyclist fell on a busy street after hitting a pothole. Instead of stopping to help her, many people just watched from a distance. Some criticised the cyclist for her mistake. A man finally knelt down next to her, picked up the bike, and checked on her injuries. He helped her back on her feet without judging her.

The Space Between Failure and Grace

Today’s key text reminds us that a person is still valuable even if they fail. It asks us to restore people instead of throwing them away. Paul urges us to see believers who have strayed from the faith as lives that need care and compassion and not problems to expose.

To ‘restore’ means to fix something that is broken, like setting a bone or fixing a torn net. You need to be patient, sensitive, and careful on purpose to do this kind of work. Gentleness isn’t weakness. It is strength that comes from love and is guided by the Holy Spirit.

When A Believer Falls…

People are too quick to see when someone fails but too slow to help. God wants His people to step in, not back. When someone falls, the question isn’t how far they have fallen but whether we are willing to help them get back up with dignity and grace.

How do you react when a believer falls? Do you stay away, or do you move closer with kindness? Be someone who heals, not someone who judges, and treat others the way Christ would.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, teach me to help others heal with kindness and show Your love in everything I do.
