Acquire Superior Citizenship

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 3:20 (NKJV)

Due to the perceived or actual high quality of life in developed countries, there is a constant flow of legal and illegal immigrants in that direction. The target country, on the other hand, has the right to refuse access to non-citizens.

Our Citizenship is in Heaven

Now, obtaining a more powerful passport does not necessarily imply one will be happy and fulfilled. That is why we should all aspire to acquire the only citizenship that is permanent and guaranteed to give us genuine satisfaction. The application process is simple, and the benefits are eternal.

The apostle Paul, himself a citizen of this country, reminded the Christians of Corinth: “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.” (Philippians 3:20-21).

Acquire Superior Citizenship

You acquire superior citizenship in the heavenly kingdom by accepting Jesus as our personal Saviour and Lord. For now, we are dual citizens, but on the day Jesus returns to take us home, our citizenship will only be in God’s kingdom. The transition will also involve getting a brand new body!

As we wait for that glorious day, we need to model the values of our eternal home. Moreover, we should continue persuading others to become citizens of the kingdom of God. Surely, you cannot be as selfish as not to tell others of the innumerable benefits of acquiring this superior citizenship.

Lord Jesus, thank You because I have acquired superior citizenship in heaven, and I am eagerly waiting for Your second coming.
