And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.
Psalms 39:7 (NKJV)
When Faith underwent tests for a life-threatening disease, she feared for the worst. He most painful experience, however, was the long wait for the results.
As she sat in the waiting room, she meditated and prayed earnestly. In her moment of anguish, she surrendered her life and fate to the Almighty.
When the results came out, the outcome did not matter. Faith was at peace with herself and with God. She thanked God for this life-changing experience.
When God Seems to Abandon Us
The LORD has waiting rooms for us, too. These are situations when He tells us to wait instead of giving a definite ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ answer. In the height of our desperation, God seems to abandoned us.
When we are in a hurry and God keeps us in the waiting room, we can choose to wait patiently for God like David, and say, “And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.” (Psalm 39:7).
In God’s waiting room, we learn to be patient and more prayerful. Our faith increases as we anticipate God’s response. The waiting room is God school of spiritual growth.
God’s Delay is not Denial
If God is making you wait, it if for a noble reason. His delay does not mean He has declined your request. He wants to bring you to a level of maturity where you can appreciate your total dependence on Him. God wants to inculcate godliness, contentment and gratitude in you. Cooperate with Him as you wait.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the many times you keep me in Your waiting room because it is for my benefit
