Are You a Member of God’s Family?

Are you a member of God’s family? Jesus expands the definition of family in today’s key text to embrace anyone who is willing to obey God, not just people of similar genetic makeup.

While our worldly families hold great significance, the family of God surpasses these connections. It’s a family bound together by a common resolve to live in accordance with God’s will rather than by genetics.

Character Traits of God’s Family Members

Being a part of God’s family necessitates introspection on what it means to carry out the Father’s desire. It entails believing and applying the lessons that Jesus imparted. Are there any behaviors, attitudes, or thoughts that you need to change to conform to God’s will?

Second, Christians should treasure and foster relationships within the body of Christ. These connections are based on God’s love and purpose, and they are eternal. Look for opportunities today to interact with other believers and extend prayers, support, and encouragement.

Third, we must accept the diversity that exists within God’s family. The diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences that exist enhance our understanding and practice of faith. Always, show new converts the acceptance and love that define God’s family by extending a warm welcome.

Are you a member of God’s family? It entails having the same goal in life as other Christians, which is to exalt God. Let us make an effort to live in a way that honors our position as members of the heavenly family.

Almighty Father, thank You for inviting us into Your family, Heavenly Father. Teach us to welcome more people into Your family by spreading Your truth and love.
