Do Not Keep Silent, Lord

Daily Devotional – Thursday, June 26, 2025
This You have seen, O LORD; do not keep silence. O Lord, do not be far from me.
Psalms 35:22 (NKJV)

There are times when it feels as if no one really sees what you are going through. When someone hurts you, says something hurtful about you, or treats you unfairly, you may wish that someone else would step in and say, “That’s not right!”

You Have Seen…

David may have felt like that when he wrote today’s key text. The psalmist is crying out to God, not with fancy words, but with a raw, honest heart. He is basically saying, “God, I know You saw what happened. Please don’t ignore it. Please don’t leave me to deal with this experience alone.”

Sometimes life brings pain that we cannot explain, and in those moments, God can feel far away. But this David reminds us that it is okay to be real with God. He can handle our pain, our questions, and even our frustration. He does not want a filtered prayer. He wants our truth.

Do Not Keep Silent, Lord

Does it feel as if God is quiet? It might appear so, but you can be sure He is not absent. He sees. He knows. He cares. He might not fix everything right away, but He promises to walk with us through it all.

Are you holding something painful inside? Is your heart hurting? What would it look like to lay it honestly before God today? Don’t hold your pain in. Talk to Him. He is closer than you think.

Prayer
Almighty God, You have seen what I am going through. Please don’t stay quiet. I need to feel Your presence and know You are near. Help me trust that You care, even when I don’t have all the answers.
