Do You Possess True Wealth?

In the modern world, prestige, belongings, and bank accounts are frequently used to gauge one’s level of wealth. In a society that highly values financial success, and many people spend time pursuing it, do you possess true wealth?

Are You Spiritually Rich?

In Matthew 6:19–21, Jesus asks us to change our perspective from earthly wealth to heavenly treasures. This reminds us that material belongings are transient and susceptible to theft and deterioration. The treasures we keep in heaven, on the other hand, are safe and forever.

Heavenly treasures are the results of living a life that complies with God’s plan. They include deeds of kindness, generosity, and love; a heart full of faith and confidence in God; and relationships based on the love of Christ. These are the long-term returns on investments we make in God’s kingdom.

Do You Possess True Wealth?

Heavenly love comes from knowing Jesus, the love that emanates from a heart that has been changed by His grace, and the serenity that is beyond comprehension. It is found in the knowledge that Christ rules in heaven, where our genuine heritage is preserved.

Consider for a moment where you are putting your time, effort, and money. Which is your priority: gaining financial prosperity or developing spiritually and helping others? Do you possess true wealth? How can you strengthen your relationship with God, and demonstrate your faith in the real world?

Prayer
Heavenly Father, please enable us to see the true riches found in a life devoted to You, rather than being seduced by the transient appeal of worldly wealth.
