Do You Want to Shine Like Stars Forever?

…and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
Daniel 12:3 (NKJV)

As a child, I loved gazing at the stars. My captivation grew stronger when I learned in school about galaxies and constellations. I am still fascinated with the profundity in these five words, “He also made the stars.” (Genesis 1:16).

Sparkling like Stars

Similarly, in my journey of faith, I am awed at a group of people that God compares to shining stars. I want to be among those whose brightness will shine forever.

In Daniel Chapter 12, God’s messenger describes a time of trouble when Michael, the Archangel, arises and saves God’s people. (Verse 1). During that time that time (Jesus’s second coming) when the resurrection takes place.

Shinning Like the Brightness of Heaven

According to the heavenly messenger, “Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.” (Verse 2). We must always bear in mind that God will soon judge us according to how we have lived.

Further, a special group of righteous people receives an additional reward. The messenger says, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.” (Verse 3).

Do You Want to Shine Like Stars Forever?

If you are engaged in active gospel work, reaching out to lost souls and leading them to Jesus, you have a special place in heaven. Even in eternity, you will shine like the star for ever and ever. Those you led to salvation will forever be grateful for your efforts on their behalf.

Is there a soul you can win for Jesus today? When you consider that Christ died for you and gave you eternal life freely, how else can you repay him than to make others His disciples? If you want to shine like the stars forever, start leading people to righteousness today.

Lord Jesus, make me a fisher of men that I may shine like the stars forever.
