Behold, I am doing a new thing… I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:19 (ESV)
James is the role model in his society. Wives pray that their husbands will be like James. You see, James was not always the ideal human being. In fact, he was the opposite. He was known as the village drunkard.
Solomon may have had James in mind when he wrote, “Who has anguish? Who has sorrow? Who is always fighting? Who is always complaining? Who has unnecessary bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?” Proverbs 23:29, NLT).
One day, though, James’ life changed completely. He woke up in a freezing mortuary cooler, lying among corpses. Police officers had picked his ‘body’ from a muddy trench the previous night.
You should have seen the screaming mortuary attendant running insanely out of the morgue, followed by a more agitated James!
In his moment of greatest shock, James must have heard Jesus saying, “Behold, I am doing a new thing; I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:19, ESV). James surrendered his life to Jesus.
Only God can perform such a miracle. Only He can rescue a man from death and give him a new beginning. Only God can turn desperation into hope. Only God can make a way where there seems to be no way.
Whatever you are struggling with today, whether spiritual or material, remember that God is doing a new thing for you. You may not see it right now, but at the right time, God will transform your life.
Father, thank you because you are creating something new for me.
God is never tired of doing a new thing. The only problem is we not persistent in requesting from God.
Let’s ask from God all the time.
Indeed, Pastor. Ours is a wonderful God, always ready to listen to us and give us second chances.
Amen. This is very powerful word of encouragement. May God take control of the current world situation.

We have to remain courageous in the faith. Christ is with us.
Not all we hear is to be believed or pondered.
He is working for you even now, though you cannot see it.
I am happy to know that God is working on something new for me. Amen.
Indeed He is
