He (God) remembers that we are dust.
Psalms 103:13-14 (NIV)
Dealing with children can be frustrating. For example, why can’t someone solve a simple math problem after being in class for a whole year? For Pete’ sake, it is mere addition, I say. Then I remember he is just a child, not an adult.
I assign an easy-t0-perform task, or so I think. To my surprise, when I return home in the evening, the work is undone. I feel like using the cane, but then I remember, she is just a child.
Yesterday I let him go, with a stern warning. Today, he has dipped his hand in the honey jar, again. I am tired of issuing empty warnings. Just when I am about to utter a harsh word to him. I remember, he is jusyt a child.
Concerning God, David writes, “As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him…” Instead of getting angry with us, God treats us like wayward children, in need of love and sympathy.
The reason? “For he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.” Psalms 103:14. God understand our weaknesses. He knows the damage sin has caused in our lives. He knows without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5).
Child of God, whatever challenges you face today, don’t despair because God remembers you. He knows your weaknesses. He will give you strength.
Are you feeling unwell? Are you looking for a job? Are you struggling to put food on the table? Are you in financial distress?
God remembers you. You are His beloved child. He will act in you favour, in due time.
Thank you, Father, because you remember me.
Your name is written in His palm. So are unforgettable.
A sure friend we have in Jesus.
Again you remind me this true friend.
