And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.
Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV)
A common practice in management is to provide orientation to new workers. This helps them settle down conveniently in their new working environment. However, in some cases, employees are left to learn their new roles on their own. Not so with Jehovah God.
When Moses attained 120 years of age, God decided to appoint Joshua to lead the children of Israel to Canaan. Through Moses, God assured Joshua, “And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you…”
God was not merely anointing Joshua to lead the nation. He would personally lead Joshua. In other words, God would lead the way, Joshua would follow, and the Israelites would march behind Joshua.
It gets more interesting when Moses tells Joshua that God “will be with you; He will not leave you nor forsake you.” God does not only lead from the front; He walks among His children. He has no intention of abandoning them. They will never walk alone. Consequently, they should not “fear nor be dismayed.”
As you begin a new month, be assured that Jesus is the One leading the way for you. Your destination is assured. Your plans are achievable if you continue following Him. God will be with you, offering guidance and motivation along the way.
You have no reason to fear because Jesus will deal with your problems and your enemies. Will you trust God enough to let Him lead you?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank you for leading the way. I am following you. Because You are with me, I will not fear.
