God Will Show Up

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me. You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies.
Psalms 138:7 (NKJV)

Who does not love a stress-free life? From our interactions with fairy tales and love stories, we would like to experience the “and they lived happily ever after” every day. Life, however, is far from ideal, but thankfully, God will show up in the midst of trouble.

In the Midst of Trouble

Life can be overwhelming at times. Some days you are just trying to keep your head above water. Other days, it feels like the world is coming at you from all sides. Thus, David’s message in our key text should come as a relief.

It is encouraging and empowering to know that God does not leave us when things get rough. He steps in and holds us together. David had experienced God’s intervention firsthand: people trying to kill him, friends turning against him, and nights full of fear.

God Will Show Up

Indeed, God may not take away every problem right away, but He promises to protect, strengthen, and help us make it through. Does this explain why when you look back at your difficult moments in the past, you wonder how you made it?

When we submit ourselves to God, our attitude towards difficulties will be different. We will lean towards God more and even appreciate, even if in hindsight, the hardship we go through. Because God will show up every time, we can walk in the midst of trouble.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, some days feel heavier than others, and I don’t always see how it’s all going to work out. I am glad that You will show up and lead me through it all.
