And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Philippians 1:6 (New Living Translation)
A casual walk through your neighborhood will reveal three types of construction projects: ongoing projects, stalled projects and finished projects. This classification depends on the stage of completion or stagnation of a project.
If your life were a project, what category would it be?
According to Paul, Christians are God’s projects. To know your category, here is Philippians 1:6. “…And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
When you accept Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, God begins a project called ‘You’. It is a process of restoring the image (character) of God in you. This is an ongoing project in which God “…works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13, NKJV).
If you feel you are falling short of God’s expectation, remember you are an ongoing project. As long as you allow the Holy Spirit to work in you, God will continue perfecting you. The project will end when Jesus returns or if you die before that.
If people around you criticize you for not being perfect, remind them you are a project in progress. God will continue moulding and changing you. The process will be painful at times, but it is worth the crown of life that awaits you when Christ returns.
Lord Jesus, thank You because I am an ongoing project and You have not given up on me.
How comforting is it to know that you are God’s ongoing project?
I am happy to know that God is working in me and gradually perfecting me.
Amen. Thank you for the comment. Be blessed.
It makes me grateful and happy to know my life has a meaning and God’s perfect will, will be realized in his project
Amen, Waweru. Welcome to Daily Family Devotions.
