For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV)
Have you ever been so late for an appointment or a meeting that you felt angry with yourself? Ever used public transport on the way to an important function, and you realized you were getting late and could do nothing about it?
On the day I attended my first job interview, a heavy storm made our local roads impassable. I arrived at 4.00 pm for an interview that was scheduled for 11.00 am. Surprisingly, the panel was waiting for me, and, I got the job! Despite my lateness and frustrations, I was not late before God.
Such experiences have taught me to be patient and to wait upon the Lord. Note the use of the word ‘tarry’ in Habakkuk 2:3. We read, “though it tarry” still, “it will not tarry”. In essence, God’s purposes may seem to delay but they actually are on time.
God’s plans know no haste nor delay. Our God comes right on time. We often pray to God to answer our petitions within specific timelines but he responds with loud silence. Sometimes the Almighty surprises us by answering long after our expected deadlines.
Do not be alarmed. When God answers, that is the appropriate time for the response. That is the time you actually need what you had requested for. If the reply to your supplications seems to delay, wait for God’s time. You will get the answer. You will not be late, because it will be God’s perfect time.
Will you trust God enough today to accept his timing for answering your prayers?
Prayer
Abba Father, grant me the patience to wait for you to answer my prayers in your perfect time. Amen.
God’s timing is the best and perfect. If I remember about Hanna am overwhelmed with joy because l know God’s timing is always 100%.
Thanks
Amen and Amen.

Has God ever ‘disappointed’ you by answering your prayers in His own time? Please share your experience here. You might encourage others who think God has forgotten their petitions.
