I will remember the works of the LORD; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.
Psalms 77:11 (NKJV)
There was a time when photo albums were fashionable. When you visited a family or a friend, a collection of well-arranged photographs would provide the initial entertainment. Often, this assortment would summarize a huge chunk of a family or individual’s history.
I still keep my albums. I also have digital versions. My computer has numerous folders with multiple photos of my experiences and travels over the years. Occasionally, I go through the collection and shed tears of joy.
Irrespective of whether photos are printed or digital, albums are cherished storehouses of memories and experiences. It is like going down memory lane and wondering how you made it through all the obstacles.
David may not have had a photo album but he reflected on God’s faithfulness over the years. He wrote, “I will remember the works of the LORD; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.” (Psalm 77:11).
He further stated, “I will also meditate on all Your work, and talk of Your deeds.” (Psalms 77:12). When David opens his mental photo album, he realizes God has been with him all the way. Therefore, he proudly invites us to gaze into his amazing photos.
Reach out for your album and go through your photos. Go as far back as possible. What do you see? Do you remember moments when you almost gave up? How about the people who were there for you through it all?
I believe, like me you can say, “Ebenezer! Thus far the LORD has helped me.” (1 Samuel 7:12).
Father, as I reflect on my past, I see Your faithfulness and constant presence in my life. Thank You!
When you look back at your experiences, what do you want to tell God?
His Grace is sufficient
Praise be to God
His mercies, love and goodness follow me like a shadow.
All i have is a grateful soul and a thankful day.
Thank you elder
Amen, Emily. Sure it is.
