Help My Unbelief

Daily Devotional – Wednesday, July 9, 2025
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
Mark 9:23 (NKJV)

Sometimes we come to God unsure if He will actually help. Our prayers are full of ifs. Jesus, however, gently challenges us just like He did the father in Mark 9: “All things are possible to him who believes.”

All Things are Possible

This father was watching his child suffer for years. He was worn out, maybe even hopeless. Honestly, many of us get there too. Life can beat down our faith until we are not even sure what we believe anymore. Notice, though, that Jesus, instead of scolding the man, invites him to trust God again.

This parent’s reply is one of the most honest prayers in the Bible: “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (Verse 24). What an honest confession. That is where most of us live: a mixture of faith and doubt, hope and fear.

Help My Unbelief

Notice, also, that Jesus did not wait for perfect faith. He met the father right there in that mess of emotions and healed the boy. Faith does not mean having it all figured out. It means coming to Jesus anyway. Trusting He can still do something, even when we are unsure.

What have you stopped praying for because you started entertaining unbelief? Are you willing to surrender your doubts and fears to God today? Remember when we bring Him our shaky faith, He meets us with love, power, and grace.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, sometimes I doubt, especially when things have been hard for so long. That is why I am bringing You the little faith I have. Help me believe again. I trust You with my situation. Help my unbelief.
