How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!
Psalms 139:17 (NKJV)
Have you ever wondered what God thinks about you? Our key text is David’s way of saying, “God, it amazes me how much You think about me and how valuable those thoughts are!”
How Great are Your Thoughts!
The context is a beautiful reflection where David is soaking in the fact that God knows everything about him, his habits, his emotions, and his words before he even speaks them. He is overwhelmed by the thought that God’s mind is constantly full of him. Not just once in a while, not only when he prays, but always.
That same God thinks of you, too. He does this, not with frustration or disappointment, but with love, kindness, and hope. His thoughts are not random or fleeting. They are focused, caring, and packed with purpose.
How Precious are Your Thoughts!
In a world where we can feel unnoticed or undervalued, let us remember that we matter deeply to God. His thoughts about us are not only many; they are precious. That means we are not just on His radar: we are on His heart.
If you are feeling invisible, insecure, or unsure, remember that God is thinking about you. Constantly. Tenderly. Intentionally. How would your mindset change if you really believed that God’s thoughts about you are full of love and purpose? What is one area of your life where you need to be reminded that God sees and cares for you?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, it blows my mind to know that You are always thinking about me and that those thoughts are full of love and care. Help me walk today with confidence in Your constant presence.
