When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.
Isaiah 43:2 (NKJV)
The heaviest cabinet in my office is fireproof. That is where I keep the most important documents. In case of an inferno, I have the assurance that whatever is inside there is secure.
The manufacturers of non-combustible equipment acknowledge that fires happen. They also concede that fires can destroy property. That is why they use technology to stop or mitigate the effects of fires.
Fire-resistant Believers
In Isaiah 43:2, God promises, “When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.” (Isaiah 43:2). The Lord affirms that difficulties will engulf His children. After all, we do not belong to this world and it will hate and persecute us. With all the fires around us, we must appreciate God’s offer to make us incombustible.
To understand exactly how to attain this quality, let us consider the story of Meshach, Shadrack and Abednego. These young Hebrews refused to bow before the golden statue of King Nebuchadnezzar. How dare they? They were foreigners from a nation that the king had conquered and destroyed yet they remained faithful to their God.
Incombustible and Defiant Believers!
The king ordered his men to increase the heat in the furnace seven times. Little did the king know that the three men were fireproof. By surrendering themselves to God and choosing to serve God despite threats of death, they invited God to shield them from fire. Indeed, the Son of God came into the fire to give them company!
So harmless was the fire on Meshach, Shadrack and Abednego that “…the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them.” (Daniel 3:27). When Jesus joins us in our trials, we become fireproof.
How to Become a Fireproof Christian
If you are going through difficulties today, remember Jesus is with you right there. You are fire-resistant because you are a faithful child of the Most High. Hang in there. You will come out victorious and unscathed.

Thank You, Jesus, because You are with me in the life fires I face thus making me fireproof.
