How to Eat the Good of the Land

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.
Isaiah 1:19 (NKJV)

The Lord reveals a straightforward yet deep message through Prophet Isaiah: blessings follow obedience. He wants to meet our needs, guide us into His fullness, and shower us with His goodness. This promise is subject to our willingness and obedience, though.

If You are Willing and Obedient

God seeks not only external obedience but also a heart that cheerfully submits to His will. It is an indication of a willing heart to trust God no matter the circumstances. In other words, you resolve to trust your present and future and to follow Him deliberately. Love and trust are the foundations of true obedience, not duty.

God’s promise of blessing includes joy, peace, and spiritual fulfillment in addition to financial wealth. As we walk according to God’s will, we encounter His kindness in ways that the world cannot provide. Life, progress, and plenty are the results of his schemes every time.

How to Eat the Good of the Land

How can you develop an obedient and willing heart? Let God mold your heart by immersing yourself in prayer and Bible study. Remember that God always has your best interests in mind, even when obeying is difficult.

Give God complete authority over your life and have faith that His blessings will come from a heart that is surrendered. Consider this as you move through your day: Am I prepared to fully trust God? In that case, His promise that I will eat the good of the land is still valid.

Prayer
Father in heaven, grant me an obedient and ready heart. Give me the ability to joyfully follow Your ways and to fully trust You so that I may eat the good of the land.
