For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Hebrews 11:2 (KJV)
At the end of a specified working period and concomitant assessment, a report is prepared. While no one is perfect, a good report demonstrates how the main player emerged victorious despite formidable challenges. Report, consequently, reveal heroes.
The Hall of Fame of Bible Heroes is in Hebrews Chapter 11. They include Abel, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, Samuel, David and the prophets.
Why are they heroes?
“…who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight… Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life. Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two; they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated— of whom the world was not worthy—wandering about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.” (Hebrews 11:33-38).
The Elders Obtained a Good Report
Interestingly, these individuals did not become heroes because of their military might and intellectual abilities. It was because of faith. The Bible says, “For by it the elders obtained a good report.” (Hebrews 11:2).
When the angels of God present the report of your life, will you be among the heroes of faith? It is only by combining your human weaknesses with the Almighty Hand of God, that you will accomplish the impossible.
God is still in the business of making heroes. Only through total fidelity to God and unwavering faith in Him will you obtain a good report. Ask God for the gift of faith today. (Romans 12:3).
Prayer
Lord Jesus, increase my faith. I want to obtain a good report and become a hero of faith.
May i be in the list or those having faith. That i too may obtain God report.
