I Will Not Keep Quiet!

Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Like any other day, Bartimaeus was a blind beggar sitting by the side of the road. His existence was characterized by darkness and survival through the generosity of others. But he made the decision to speak up when the chance to mend himself presented itself.

He Cried Out All the More

Bartimaeus was blind, yet he had spiritual eyesight. He knew Jesus was the Messiah and had the power to heal. He yelled out even louder in response to the crowd’s attempts to silence him, not letting anything stand in the way of his pursuit of Jesus.

We frequently encounter difficulties and roadblocks in our own lives that seem to drown out our pleas for assistance. Worries, doubts and the opinions of others may attempt to stifle our faith. However, Bartimaeus, we must pursue Jesus relentlessly and have faith in His kindness and ability to change our life.

I Will Not Keep Quiet!

Jesus granted Bartimaeus’ plea and praised him for his faith. Bartimaeus immediately gained his sight and started to follow Jesus. His spiritual metamorphosis was reflected in his physical recovery. Bartimaeus would still be in the dark if he had listened to his detractors and kept silent.

Like Bartimaeus, let us continuously call out to Jesus today, believing in His mercy and ability to supply our needs. Let’s get rid of everything that prevents us from fully following Him. Let’s make the decision not to keep quiet until Jesus changes both our material and spiritual lives.

Lord Jesus, I will not keep quiet until you give me the miracle I seek.
