In You I Put My Trust

Daily Devotional – Tuesday, July 8, 2025
In You, O LORD, I put my trust. Let me never be ashamed. Deliver me in Your righteousness.
Psalms 31:1 (NKJV)

Have you ever had moments when life just feels like too much? Maybe your relationships, finances, and plans are falling apart. Perhaps you are not sure who or what to trust anymore. In those moments, you might feel exposed, embarrassed, or even like you have failed.

Let Me Never Be Ashamed

David knew that feeling well. He wrote Psalm 31 at a time when he was likely being hunted, betrayed, and overwhelmed. Yet instead of panicking, he pleaded with God, “In You, O LORD, I put my trust. Let me never be ashamed.”

This is the kind of honest prayer you whisper when you don’t have everything figured out but you are hanging onto God anyway. What is beautiful here is that David does not rely on his own goodness. Instead, he asks God to come through because God is right, good, and just.

In You I Put My Trust

Our key text reminds us that even when we are in a mess, we can still run to God without shame. God is interested in our surrender more than our perfection. When we hand over our fears and failures to Him, He rescues us.

Consequently, if you are feeling vulnerable, embarrassed, or stuck, you can pray just like David. Where in your life do you need to stop pretending to be okay and just hand it over to God? He is not asking for polished prayers but for trust.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, teach me to trust You always. I don’t want to end up ashamed or disappointed. Step in, not because I have done everything right, but because You are good, faithful, and kind.
