Is God Paying Attention?

Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him. Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way; because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
Psalms 37:7 (NKJV)

Life can sometimes be fast-paced, fiercely competitive, and often unfair. Moreover, people who use unscrupulous means appear to succeed compared to pious individuals. In moments like that, it is easy to feel anxious or bitter and wonder if God is even paying attention.

Rest in the Lord

Today’s key text, however, is a gentle reminder to pause. God is not asking us to fix everything or fight every battle. He wants us to rest in Him. This idea carries the sense of loosening your grip or letting go. It is not about giving up but about trusting Him.

God is not ignoring the wrong that is happening. He sees it all. But His timeline does not always match ours. His justice will come, even if it feels delayed. Waiting on Him means believing He is working behind the scenes, even when we can’t see any progress.

Is God Paying Attention?

The psalmist also tells us not to burn with frustration, jealousy, or worry. When we take our eyes off our circumstances and look to God instead, that inner turmoil can start to quiet down. God sees. God knows. In His time, He will act.

So, ask yourself: What situations or people are tempting you to feel anxious or jealous? Where might God be inviting you to pause and trust Him today? What does patience look like in your life right now? Remember, God is paying attention.

Prayer
Almighty God, in this chaotic world, help me to slow down and find stillness in You. Teach me to let go of comparison, fear, and the urge to control everything.
