Keep Them on Earth

Daily Devotional – Tuesday, February 12, 2025
I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
John 17:15 (NKJV)

As He got closer to His death, Jesus committed His disciples, then and today, to God’s protection. However, although it might seem like the simplest way to escape sin and suffering. Christ did not request the Father to take His disciples out of the world. Rather, He prayed for us to be safe from the devil while we remained on earth to carry out God’s will.

Do not Take Them Out of the World

Despite the fact that our world is fallen, we are not alone. The Lord promises the Father’s divine protection. while acknowledging the difficulties we will encounter. In a world full of spiritual darkness, we are to be the light. Who would spread the gospel if we were removed from this world too soon?

The risks are real, though. The enemy will try to trick us into giving in to anxiety, temptation, and doubt. Thankfully, we are not helpless. Consequently, let us confidently embrace our mission rather than fear the world. Our purpose is to shine, not to hide. We have divine protection and are not alone because the Father will keep us safe.

Keep Them on Earth

Prayer
Almighty God, although life on earth is full of hardships and temptations, give me the strength to maintain my faith, walk in holiness, and shine Your light in the shadows.
