Lean In, Listen and Live

Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live.
Isaiah 55:3 (NKJV)

Today’s key text is God’s personal invitation to all human beings. The Lord was speaking to His people when they were running after things that could never truly satisfy. Yet even in their wandering, God reached out with compassion and asked the people to lean in, listen, and live.

Incline Your Ear

Think about being in a crowded room. Someone is speaking softly, and to hear them clearly, you lean in and focus on their voice. That is what God is asking of us. Life is noisy and full of responsibilities, worries, and endless distractions. Nevertheless, if we lean in and quiet ourselves, we will begin to hear His voice cutting through the noise.

God adds, “Come to Me.” He does not demand that we do more or prove ourselves. He simply calls us closer. God is not looking for polished performances. He is interested in the individual. In His presence, we find the rest, strength, and joy our souls crave.

Lean In, Listen and Live

Then there is a beautiful promise: “Hear, and your soul shall live.” We are not just talking about surviving. This assurance entails real, abundant life. When we listen to God and let His Word soak into us, He breathes life into the dry and weary places of our hearts.

Take God at His word today. Lean in, listen, and live. Tune your ear to His voice, like you would in that noisy room. God is still speaking, and if you listen, you will find life for your soul.

Prayer
Father, help me to lean in, listen to you, and live. Help me to hear clearly above the noise of life. Draw me close, and let Your Word bring fresh life to my soul.
